From the Hills to a Home of Peace
The story of Takete-Ide predates the present settlement. Community historical accounts preserve a journey through earlier settlements and upland communities before the move to the present site around 1926.
Present Settlement — c.1926–Present
The supplied historical account places the movement from Ilu-Oke and the surrounding uplands to the present low-plain settlement in 1926 or thereabouts. The new site was initially remembered as Ileteju before the Takete-Idera name was adopted in the community account.
